Ementa

This mini-course will be offered in English, without translation. The mini-course aims to discuss the similarities and differences in the education of students with disabilities, focusing on the following aspects: the special education students, the organization of education systems, classroom organization, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and school transitions. The proposal is to conduct a comparative study between the two countries, based on the organization of education for students with disabilities.

Programa

1) The Special Education Students in the United States and Brazil;

2) The Organization of Education Systems - Particularities of Each Country;

3) Classrooms in Brazil and the United States - Collaborative Teaching and Other Organizations;

4) Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and School Transitions of Students with Disabilities

Each student must submit a paper of at least 12 pages at the end of the mini-course, summarizing the discussions held.
